NAVCA Quality Award
In 2009 ICVS achieved NAVCA Quality Award giving us a compelling means of demonstrating that we deliver high quality services to our local voluntary and community groups.
It will also provide evidence of our role in helping the local authority to achieve the key performance indicators against which it is measured, eg. Some key Local Area Agreement indicators.
We were judged on 5 key areas:-
1. Support
Providing quality advice, brokerage of training and other services to our members and the wider Voluntary and Community Sector, VCS, who work at the frontline within neighbourhoods and communities. In real terms:
- Sharing desk space and resources in the ICVS Hub
- Finance advice and support
- Funding and development advice
- Workshops
- Enabling Volunteering
2. Development
identifying need, developing action, working strategically to benefit local voluntary & community sector through our work with Making Tracks, Volunteer Ipswich, Town & Bridge Project, Ipswich Community Fund and The Health Trainers
3. Liaison
Maintaining links within the VCS, via ICVS newsletters, website, meetings and ad hoc forums. Promoting cross sector relationships with public sector organisations
4. Enabling Representation
As an independent non-party political organisation, enabling the local VCS to present its views to the local authority and other public agencies
5. Strategic Partnership
Enabling representation of the VCS in partnership working, planning and delivery, especially within the One Ipswich Partnership
