Lunchtime Lecture: Films Made in Suffolk
Professor Chris Green
At Museum Street Methodist Church, Ipswich
Thursday 14 July 2011
1pm to 1-50pm
Admission Free
Suffolk has been a favourite destination for the makers of both film and television dramas. Most celebrated is Akenfield, but that is the most obvious amongst dozens of episodes or one-offs. Popular locations include Elvedon Hall (Eyes Wide Shut and Tomb Raider amongst others), as well as the River Orwell (Ha’penny Breeze, Yangtse Incident, Fourth Protocol). This lecture is based on a series of articles written by Professor Chris Green and illustrated with clips from some of the 25+ films or television series identified.
