This is an one-day training organised for individuals and charity organisations(VCO-s) who are interested to start a new Social Enterprise and make a positive impact in your local community. It is designed to give a practical knowledge of the legal structures available, the issues involved during the setting-up process and it will show the usual steps taken while starting a social enterprise.

Training content:

  • The definition of Social Enterprises and their key features
  • Common characteristics of Social Enterprises
  • What distinguishes Social Enterprises from other types of organisations
  • Examples of social enterprise believed to be successful & the reason(s) for their success
  • Looking at the most popular legal structures available for establishing a Social Enterprises
  • Analysing the positive and negative sides of these legal structures
  • How to set-up a social enterprise – the practical steps
  • Pitfalls and considerations when starting a Social Enterprises

Who should attend?

The training is designed for any charity organisation (VCO-s) that want to create a social enterprise subsidiary in order to diversify incomes. It is structured also for those individuals who are thinking of starting a social enterprise from the scratch or are thinking of a subsidiary branch from an existing voluntary organization. If you are a Trustees, CEOs, PMs or staff of a voluntary organisations that is considering the social enterprise model as an option for the future of your organisation, then this training is for you.

The Enterprising Reward

2 participants will have the opportunity to secure a financial reward for their organisation (one per organisation) at the end of the day’s training. Could you be one of the two inspiring participants?

There are limited places available and booking in advance is essential.
The Investment charges: £ 60.00 per person / organisation for one day training
There is a limit of two people from the same organisation that can come at this session.
