Get a taste for volunteering in September and October |

Volunteer Ipswich is hosting a number of informal sessions in the centre of Ipswich to showcase the variety of volunteering opportunities in the town and local area. These sessions will be held at ICVS, 1 Cornhill, on 16th and 30th September and 14th October, from 1-3pm.
The sociable and relaxed sessions are aimed at those who have not been a volunteer before and would like to know more about getting involved, or if volunteering is for them. Representatives from the British Red Cross, Anglia Care Trust and Suffolk Befriending Scheme will discuss how they use volunteers to carry out important roles in their organisations. Volunteer Ipswich will also talk about some of the 200 volunteering vacancies in the local area, ranging from one-off opportunities to long-term positions.
Volunteering offers so many personal rewards to volunteers, as well as enabling organisations and charities to carry out their services and run their events. Olivia, a recent volunteer placed by Volunteer Ipswich, says, “volunteering is very flexible and you can do it as often or few times as you wish. I would definitely recommend it to others as you get a great feeling from knowing that you’ve helped others for nothing, and you also learn skills which are helpful for your future”.
Places on the taster sessions are limited, so please book in advance by contacting Volunteer Ipswich on 01473 261116 or volunteer@ipswich-cvs.org.uk
