Want to do something good? Free course |
posted 6 Oct 2011 back to News |
- Would you like to gain a certificate by improving your personal
development in a free 9+ hour course, made up of a mixture of group and individual sessions over various days to suit your needs?
- Are you aged 18 or over, and unemployed, under-employed (working less than 8 hours a week), retired or unable to work?
- Would you like to get involved with fun and rewarding volunteering opportunities in your local area, to learn new skills, meet new people and improve your CV?
Volunteering can improve people’s personal and employability skills and can also be a very enjoyable experience. We currently have 220+ volunteering roles across Ipswich and the Suffolk Coastal Area – some of them are very flexible for the volunteer, simply require enthusiasm and commitment as training will be given and don’t demand a lot of people’s time. Volunteering can be a great way to gain another reference for future jobs and other pursuits.
The course will help people to choose at least one volunteering opportunity they would like to pursue and be successfully recruited into the role(s). Support will be given with application forms, preparation for interviews, etc.
The first group start-up session will be on Friday 21st October, from 10am—1pm. Other days and times will be decided with attendees during this session. All group sessions will be held at ICVS - 1 Cornhill, Ipswich, IP1 1DD (if you are not sure of where this is, please get in touch for specific directions)
Places will be available on a first-come first-served basis—for more information and to book your place, please contact Kirk Jackson.
