Suffolk Voluntary and Community Sector: New Infrastructure, Improved Services

Suffolk MapAs you may be aware, the infrastructure organisations* in Suffolk have agreed to work together to devise a single infrastructure body for Suffolk. The new body will offer a consistency of service across the County, maximise the deployment of our collective resources and strengthen the relationship between infrastructure and the whole of the VCS.

We are delighted to say that we heard at the beginning of February that we have been successful in our bid to the Big Lottery to fund the change programme, made under the ‘Transforming Local Infrastructure’ programme. This funding can only be used to make the proposed change to our services and not as operational funding for infrastructure services themselves. We are in the process of signing a Partnership Agreement relating to the distribution and use of this funding.

The partner organisations have formed a ‘Project Board’ made up of trustees from all twelve organisations and supported by their staff. The Boards of Partner organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 9th February to enable work to start on the disclosure of information that will be required in order to align the organisations and infrastructure functions. If you would like to find out more about what is being proposed or to discuss what you might want from Infrastructure in the future please contact Wil Gibson at wil.gibson@suffolkacre.org.uk or Wendy Herber at wendy.herber@savo.co.uk or your local Infrastructure contact.

Regards
Gwen Parsons
Chair of the Project Board
