Strategic Training Programme
UPDATE - 31 October 2011
WE regret to announce that this programme has been cancelled, we hope to run it in the New Year.
Ipswich Council for Voluntary Service (ICVS) is delighted to announce the launch of its Strategic Training Programme (STP), as from November 2011. Our thinking behind the development of the STP, is to deliver a menu of workshops which provide new skills, knowledge and information, which will enable voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations to better respond to new and emerging legislation, as well as strengthening the organisations themselves to become more ‘fit for purpose’.
We consider that a range of new opportunities will be created over the coming months and years for the VCS and our aim is for these workshops to provide an increased awareness and greater clarity, together with a basket of practical ‘tools’ which will bring an improved business focus, maximising opportunities for further development.
The programme will initially deliver three half day workshops geared specifically to meeting the changing needs of VCS organisations. Whilst content is tailored primarily to the VCS, partners from statutory organisations and other public sector bodies may also find these training opportunities useful, as a way to better understand the needs and challenges faced by the voluntary and community sector.
The workshops will be piloted in November and December 2011, with a view to being repeated in Spring 2012. We are currently also working to develop additional workshops covering a range of topics, which will see the STP carried on in 2012. If you have any suggestions on the topics you would like to see covered, please let us know as we may be able to incorporate your ideas into our future delivery.
Further details about the workshops are here.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
